Wells Fargo Championship Tips: Luke List

Fifteenth in the tour’s all-around ranking this season and good enough to bag a maiden victory.

With Quail Hollow hosting this year’s PGA Championship, the Wells Fargo moves home to Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington. The Tom Fazio design opened in 2000 and is a par-72 measuring 7,396 yards. Early reports suggest it has a hint of Augusta National but it’s really hard to draw any meaningful conclusions until it’s hosted a tournament.

I’m therefore keeping it simple this week and picking players better than their odds.

Luke List has appeared in this column numerous times and sat 15th in the tour’s all-around ranking he is playing very well this season.

Prodigious in length he’s also got a decent approach game, which sees him sat 12th in birdie average and 18th in adjusting scoring average.

A disastrous second round at the Valero Texas Open was out of character but I’m not concerned with consecutive missed cuts as the other came at Harbour Town, which doesn’t suit his game.
It wasn’t long ago that he finished T3 at the Houston Open and he’s good enough to win on tour this season. Back List at 80/1 with Sky Bet and get 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
