The European Tour visits Celtic Manor for the Wales Open. We look at the trends of the last five winners.

The warm-up for the 2014 Ryder Cup starts at Celtic Manor on Thursday, with a good field assembled in Newport including four of Paul McGinley’s team. 

In 2012 Thongchai Jaidee hit 73.6% of greens on the way to victory and accurate iron play could be key again as we look at the winning trends over the last five years.

Top-60 for GIRs
Four of the last five winners ranked insider the top-60 on tour for GIRs. The greens at Celtic Manor are tricky to hit and missing them in the wrong place can lead to bogeys.
