Wales Open Tips: Romain Wattel

Don’t overlook his good play just because he lost a lead at the KLM Open. Has finished T15-T8-T52 in three visits to Celtic Manor and arrives in great form.

Romain Wattel blew a three-shot lead at the KLM Open last week but he can bounce back quickly.

The 23-year-old has finished T34-T11-T9-T5 on his last four starts and being a young his recent defeat shouldn’t leave any permanent scars.

Wattel shouldn’t be judged too harshly on his loss as it was the first time he failed to break-70 in eleven rounds, perhaps he was just due a bad one.

The Frenchman is another terrific ball striker; he is long and straight off the tee and has the tools to tame the imposing Twenty-Ten course.

In three visits to Celtic Manor, he’s finished T15-T8-T52 and he’s never arrived in better form. At 33/1 (William Hill) he can make up for last weekend’s mishap.
