Wales Open Tips: Danny Willett

Excluding Majors, has finished T3-T8-T11-T30-T13-T5 in his last six tournaments. A win doesn’t look far away.

Danny Willett finished like a train a fortnight ago at the European Masters with rounds of 64-63 propelling him to a T5 finish.

Statistically the 26-year-old is enjoying his best season on tour. His stroke average of 70.14 is half a stroke lower than his previous best year; all that is missing is a win.

Excluding Majors, Willett has finished T3-T8-T11-T30-T13-T5 in his last six tournaments and that kind of form should lead to victory sooner rather than later.

The Sheffield golfer doesn’t have a particularly good record at Celtic Manor, missing his last four cuts but he did finish T4 in 2009 and his ball-striking ability suits the course.

At 28/1 (Bet365) he is a good each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
