Wales Open Tips: Danny Willett
Ranked 11th for scoring average on tour and due a big week. Finished T4 in 2009.
After winning his maiden tour title last year many people expected Danny Willett’s career to really take off. Things haven’t quite worked out that way for the 25-year-old but he’s by no means having a bad season.
His stroke average of 70.62 is actually better than it was last year, enough to rank 11th on the European Tour, but unfortunately the tournaments have not quite fallen for him.
Back in 2009 he finished T4 at Celtic Manor proving he can play the course well. With six top-20 finishes this year, he looks decent each-way material at 55/1 (Bet365) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
