Wales Open: Matthew Southgate
Amongst the best tee-to-green last week, continuing a trend that began after the restart. Getting close to contending on a regular basis and hopefully recording that maiden win.
It’s a different name but same venue this week for the Wales Open and i’m not changing my bet. Matthew Southgate was excellent tee-to-green last week and i’m simply waiting for the putter to heat up.
For each of the first 3 rounds at Celtic Manor last week he ranked inside the top-10 for driving accuracy (he’s not short either) and the top-20 for GIRs. He is 4/4 in cuts made since the restart and eventually his excellent ball-striking will be converted into a low scores and a win.
