Valspar Championship Tip: Russell Henley
Previous winner in Florida at the Honda Classic and has five top-25s this season.
Russell Henley is an east coast native and a player who must always look forward to the PGA Tour returning to Florida. The biggest win of his career came at Palm Beach Gardens in the Honda Classic and we are back in the Sunshine State this week.
Henley’s record at Innisbrook is a single missed cut but on paper it is a course that should suit his game. Currently 40th in strokes gained tee-to-green he is striking the ball nicely and will always make his fair share of putts.
The 27-year-old faded after opening with two rounds of 68 at the Honda Classic but there’s plenty to like about a player who has five top-25s in eight starts this season. Already a two-time winner on tour, there is every chance he adds to his tally this week at 80/1 (Paddy Power) with 1/5 odds for a top-7 finish.
