Valspar Championship: Cameron Smith
Record at the Valspar is respectable 42-49 and arrives in good form. Won Australian PGA late last season and T6 at the Genesis a fortnight ago.
Cameron Smith is a quarter of the price he was for the Valspar Championship 12 months ago but despite worse odds i’m repeating the tip. In fairness plenty has happened during the intervening period to warrant that price change.
The 24-year-old is now a PGA Tour winner having triumphed in the Zurich Classic with Jonas Blixt and he also recently won the Australian PGA Championship in front of his home crowd. A solo victory on the PGA Tour is the next logical step and Smith arrives in good form.
He is 5/5 in cuts made in 2018 with finishes of 17-18-20-48-6. He is trending in the right direction and although finishes of T42-T49 at the Valspar Championship don’t leap out, he has the right game for the Copperhead Course. Coral are 50/1 and paying 7 places at 1/5 odds.
