Valspar Championship Tips: Webb Simpson
Enjoying another fine season and finished in the top-20 on each of his last four visits to Copperhead.
If you needed evidence that humans are inherently weak, once again I’ve succumbed to temptation and backed Webb Simpson.
A four-time winner on tour with a major to his name; frustratingly he is a player I never seem to get right but I am willing to give him one last chance because the evidence is compelling.
Simpson’s record at Copperhead is MC-T13-2-T10-T17, the testing nature of the venue is ideal for the former US Open champion.
The world number 21 is enjoying another fine season with five top-10s from eight starts and he rebounded well at Doral closing with two rounds of 70 after a terrible opening to the tournament.
With so much in his favour, Simpson is a solid each-way bet at 28/1 (Paddy Power) with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
