Texas Open Tips: Alex Prugh

Texas Open Tips: Alex Prugh

Ranked tenth on tour in ball-striking and has a couple of top-10s to his name this season.

Alex Prugh has flitted between the PGA and Web.com Tour in recent years but this could be the season he cements his place at the top table.

The 30-year-old started the year well with a T5 at the Farmers Insurance Open and a T10 at Pebble Beach.

His results have dipped since then but there were encouraging signs at Bay Hill last week where he hit 78% of fairways and 69% of greens.

Prugh’s strength is his ball-striking (currently 10th on tour)  and although his putting can be streaky, apart from Ben Curtis none of the past champions at TPC San Antonio can be considered ‘great’ putters.

At 300/1 (Skybet), he has an each-way chance.
