Day Of Reckoning

Day Of Reckoning

Finished T10 at Whistling Straits in 2010 and long overdue a major championship.

Jason Day has come painfully close to major success in recent years but if he keeps knocking at the door, it will eventually open.

The Australian was unfortunate to suffer vertigo at the US Open, where he still finished a highly creditable T9 and his T4 at the Open wasn’t exactly terrible. Staying in contention on the back nine, despite not playing his best golf.

Whistling Straits looks a good fit for the 27-year-old, his length off the tee is an advantage and he finished T10 on the course in 2010, in only his second major.

Day showed tremendous spirit to bounce back from his St Andrews disappointment and win the Canadian Open the following week, this time holing a long putt on the 18th.

His talent was never in question but you cannot fault his character either.  At 14/1 (Ladbrokes) he is a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
