USPGA Championship Tips: Patrick Reed

Won twice at the start of the season before negative publicity seemed to affect his game. Seems to be over that now and finished T4 last week.

Patrick Reed started the year as one of the hottest players on tour winning twice in the space of three months, which included beating an elite field in the WGC Cadillac Championship.

Unfortunately his comments after his win, he proclaimed to be one of the top-5 golfers in the world, came in for criticism and the knives have been out ever since.

The bad publicity following the WGC affected his results; he missed five cuts in his next eight starts with a best finish of T35.

Journalists tend to have short memories and thankfully the narrative has moved on with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson now filling the column inches.

In the meantime Reed’s results have been on the up; in his last four starts he’s finished T11-T26-MC-T4.

You don’t win three PGA Tour results before your 24th birthday without being a top-class golfer and at 80/1 (Betfair Sportsbook), Reed might make good on his words.
