US Open Tips: Emiliano Grillo

US Open Tips: Emiliano Grillo

Is 6/6 in cuts made at majors and one of the best ball-strikers on tour. Straight off the tee and should relish this week's test.

Angel Cabrera won the US Open for Argentina ten years ago and the title could be returning to South America. I’ve always thought Emiliano Grillo had the perfect game for a US Open and now he can deliver.

The 24-year-old is long and straight off the tee, he is 17th for total driving this season and a fine iron player, ranked 37th in strokes gained in approaches to the green.

Grillo has a PGA Tour title to his name and is also improving his record in major championships. Last season his record in majors was 17-54-12-13 and is yet to miss the cut in six major apperances.

His form this season has been solid rather than spectacular but he managed a T7 at Bay Hill and finished 11th at the Players.
