US Open Golf Tips: Charley Hoffman
Has made the cut in his last three US Opens and a big price for a player sat fourth in the FedEx Cup standings.
Over the last twelve months we’ve seen the transformation of Charley Hoffman from journeyman pro to top-50 golfer and he looks ready to compete for major honours.
The 38-year-old is a winner this season and sits a lofty fourth in the FedEx Cup. Back in April, he finished T9 at the Masters, his best finish in a major and did well to hang around over the weekend having played in the final group on Saturday.
Hoffman is yet to miss the cut in three cracks at the US Open and although he has finished no better than T45 he was going well at Merion in 2013; he was two shots adrift until he took a triple-bogey on the 36th hole.
After a T2 finish at the Byron Nelson, Hoffman should arrive full of confidence and can outrun odds of 125/1 (William Hill).
