Tshwane Open Tips: James Morrison
In excellent form and finished T4 last week despite numerous birdie opportunities going begging on Thursday.
James Morrison bagged us a healthy profit with a 66/1 placed effort in the Joburg Open and he’s worth sticking with at the Tshwane Open. His record at Pretoria CC is an underwhelming 55-MC but he arrives in excellent form with finishes of 13-MC-23-12-4 so far this year.
As noted last week, he’s back working with coach Hugh Marr and has been putting in plenty of practice at The Wisley if his Instagram account is anything to go by.
Morrison was arguably unlucky in the rain curtailed Joburg Open, with his late run coming up just short. Tee-to-green his game looks in excellent shape and he missed plenty of makeable putts on Thursday which ultimately cost him the tournament.
The result of showing his hand, is that Morrison is a shorter price than last week but 40/1 (Coral) still underestimates his chances in this company with 7 places at 1/5 odds.
