True Thailand Classic Preview: What A Chap

Chapchai Nirat has finished T5-T14-MC at Black Mount GC and is yet to shoot an over par round at the course.

Much of the local attention will be focused on Kiradech Aphibarnrat at the True Thailand Classic which removes the media pressure from the likes of Chapchai Nirat.

The 32-year-old is a good golfer in his own right, with four Asian Tour wins and has plenty of previous course experience.

The True Thailand Classic is only in its second year but Black Mountain previously hosted the Black Mountain Masters on the Asian Tour in 2009 and 2010. Those leaderboards pointed to good performances from Andrew Dodt and Scott Hend and they are worth pouring over again.

Nirat’s course record is T5-T14-MC but he only missed the cut by a shot last year and is yet to shoot an over-par round in his last 10 tries.

The Thai golfer has started 2016 strongly with finishes of T8-T15-T36 and his course experience could give him the edge over his European rivals. At 100/1 (Boylesports) he is a good each-way bet.
