Trophee Hassan Tips: Anton Karlsson

Runner-up finish in Qatar bodes well as form often transfers to Morocco. Plays well in the wind and finished T48 on debut here in 2017. Arrives in hot form after consecutive top-tens.

The Trophee Hassan II remains at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, one of the tougher examinations on tour. None of the last three winners managed to get into double digits under par and the majority of the field finish over par. Wind is a big factor on the coast of Morocco and that provides a good link with the Qatar Masters.

Jeunghun Wang has won both events in recent years and form from the Arabian Coast travels well to the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Looking at the most recent Qatar Masters, Anton Karlsson jumps out from a bunched leaderboard.

The Swede is inexperienced at this level, this is only his 24th start on the European Tour but he ticks plenty of boxes. He ranked inside the top-20 in Doha for driving accuracy and GIRs on his way to a T2 finish and backed it up with a strong T9 at the Kenyan Open, again ranking in the top-20 for accuracy and GIRs.

Karlsson has the ball-striking to contend at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam and also has previous course experience to call upon with a T48 finish in 2017. He shouldn’t be a triple figure price.

Betfred are paying 7 palces 1/5 odds.
