18th Jun 2019 | Travelers Championship

Travelers Championship Tip: Danny Lee

Finished 25-3-15 in last three visits to TPC River Highlands and been dropping strong hints that he is returning to his best with fast starts at the PGA Championship and Canadian Open.

Danny Lee has been getting off to some hot starts of late, with opening rounds of 64 at the PGA Championship and 65 and the Canadian Open pushing him towards the top of leaderboards. The New Zealander has been unable sustain his hot hand for four rounds but the signs are positive.

It’s four years since Lee last won on tour but his adjusted scoring average of 70.7 is the best it’s been since 2015 and perhaps he’s ready to win again. Twelve months ago Lee finished T15 at the Travelers, breaking 70 for all four rounds at TPC River Highlands despite gaining only 0.461 strokes on the field putting.

The 28-year-old’s record at this event reads: MC-81-MC-25-3-15 which suggests he’s got to grips with the course in recent years. With an uptick in current form, this is the logical course for him to excel at.

Betfred are paying 7 places at 1/5 odds.
