Transitions Championship Tips: Brendon De Jonge

Finished T5 last year and could have won. Playing equally as well in 2012 and has place prospects at the very least.

Brendon De Jonge is becoming one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour. He has finished inside the top-60 of the FedEx Cup for the last two years and sits comfortably in 52nd position this season. Now established on the circuit, what is missing is that first win.

He has come close several times, including at the Transitions Championship last year. He went into the final round one shot behind the leader Justin Rose, and was still in contention into the back nine. Four bogeys in the final seven holes rather scuppered his chances, dropping him to fifth.

A fine iron player, he ranks 22nd on tour for ball striking, he thrives on courses where length isn’t a prerequisite.  The only question mark surrounds his ability to get over the finish line. He has faltered several times from a winning position, most notably at the John Deere last year.

However, at 125/1 (bodog) we are amply rewarded for a place finish, with bodog paying ¼ odds for a top-six.
