TPC Colorado Championship: Charlie Saxon

Narrowly missed out on a playoff at altitude in the Utah Championship two starts back and this looks the ideal test for the third longest driver on tour.

Charlie Saxon was a big winner for us two weeks ago and having been in the lead for most of Sunday at the Utah Championship we were unfortunate to miss the jackpot. The 26-year-old has recaptured his best form in the past month with finishes of 22-3-18 and he is one to keep onside again.

The angle into Utah was Saxon’s performances at altitude, he was fifth after three rounds in Colombia and TPC Colarado is just north of Denver, famously a mile-above sea-level. Ranked third on tour for driving distance, he averages 319 yards off the tee and he’ll need all of that to tame a course measuring 7,991 yards.

Apart from the pot bunkers, there is seemingly plenty of width on offer this week at TPC Colorado and having closed with rounds of 67-67 at the LECOM Health Challenge it is time to go in again with Saxon.
