Tour Championship Tips: Tiger Woods

Tiger has saved his best for his favourite courses this year. Record at East Lake is 2-2-1-2-T8.

With five wins on tour this year, it would seem that Tiger Woods is back to his best – which is true, but only on certain courses.

All his victories have come at courses he has enjoyed success on before.

Wins in 2013 (previous number of wins)

Famers Insurance Open @ Torrey Pines (6)
WGC Cadillac @ Doral (6)
Arnold Palmer @ Bay Hill (7)
The Players @ Sawgrass (1)
WGC Bridgestone @ Firestone (7)

Tiger Woods has only won once at East Lake but it is another course that fits his eye. In his last five visits he’s finished 2-2-1-2-T8 making it one of his favourite courses and worthy of sitting in the list above.

Last week at the BMW Championship Tiger finished T11 despite a two-stroke penalty and a woeful putting display from short range, but his ball-striking was still excellent.

Pundits will remember 2013 as another season where the world number 1 drew a blank in the majors but Tiger will still want to show he’s top dog and the next best thing is winning the Tour Championship.

A couple of bookmakers are offering 11/2 but I recommend backing him at 5/1 with Paddy Power who are refunding losing bets if your player finishes second.

Paddy Power will refund losing outright bets on the golfer(s) that finishes second at the Tour Championship.
