Unstoppable Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth Unstoppable

Has finished P1-2-P2-1-T11 in his last five stroke play events and T4 on TPC Sawgrass debut last year.

There isn’t much between Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth at the top of the market for the Players Championship but whereas McIlroy hasn’t finished higher than sixth in five visits to TPC Sawgrass, Spieth finished T4 on debut last year.

The world number one arrives in Florida on the back of a win in the WGC Match Play but that might be a disadvantage given the number of rounds he had to play in a short space of time.

Spieth’s exit in the round-robin stage might actually be an advantage. He probably needed the rest after a hectic period post-Augusta and it is not like he played badly either.

In his last five stroke play events, Spieth has finished P1-2-P2-1-T11 and it was only an opening 74 (understandable after winning the Masters) that stymied his challenge at Harbour Town.

I cannot see the 21-year cooling off and at 8/1 (BetVictor) he is a rock solid each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-7 finish.
