The Players Championship Tips: Marc Leishman

Record at TPC Sawgrass is improving with experience and leads the tour in total driving. Playing well and has a big win in him.

Marc Leishman only has one PGA Tour win to his name but he’s threatened to win a big tournament in recent years. He lost in a playoff at the 2015 Open Championship his third top-5 in majors and looks at home in an elite field.

So far this season the Australian has been putting up some impressive numbers. He leads the PGA Tour in total driving (he is long and straight) and is in the top-25 for strokes gained tee-to-green, strokes gained putting and adjusting scoring average.

There’s very little wrong with his game at the moment and he probably deserves more than the four top-25s he’s garnered.

The 32-year-old’s record at TPC Sawgrass is MC-MC-45-8-23-24 and follows the pattern of many past champions, all of whom took time to master the Pete Dye course.

Leishman has the skills to win the Players Championship and is an excellent each-way bet at 100/1 (Paddy Power) with 1/5 odds for a top-7 finish.
