The Memorial Tips: Marc Leishman
Finished T5 last year and registered four solid rounds at Colonial. Ranked 17th in strokes gained total.
I’ve not managed to make any money out of backing Marc Leishman in the past month but his performance at the Dean & Deluca Invitational has tempted me in again.
A slow start on Sunday quickly extinguished any hopes of a top-5 finish but he signed for a fourth consecutive round in the 60s and registered his third top-30 in his last five starts.
The Australian is ranked 17th in strokes gained total and is playing so well he deserves a win. The competition at Muirfield Village is stiff but he finished T5 last season and has only missed the cut once in seven starts at the Memorial.
The weather forecast for Dublin, Ohio is mixed but that won’t faze Leishman who thrives in the wind and was runner-up at St. Andrews despite the inclement weather. At 80/1 (Betfred) he is a cracking each-way bet with 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
