Ortiz On The Rise
Big price considering he won three times on the Web.com Tour last year and led the money list.
Of last year’s Web.com Tour graduates, Tony Finau is perhaps garnering the most plaudits (certainly in this column!) but we shouldn’t forget three-time winner and money list leader Carlos Ortiz.
The young Mexican has been inconsistent this season, understandable given the step up in grade but his talent remains undiminished.
He has missed his last two cuts but not by much and it wasn’t that long ago that he finished 19th at the Wells Fargo.
The 24-year-old is an excellent driver of the ball, long and reasonably straight and he sits 57th in the all-around rankings, which proves he can mix it with the best.
At 250/1 (Bet365), we are getting a big price for a young talent who knows how to win.
