Greenbrier Classic Tip: Trey Mullinax
Shown an upturn in form and this a much more suitable track than the one he faced last week at the Quicken Loans (T46).
It’s been a (short) while since I’ve posted a Trey Mullinax tip and now he’s shown an upturn in form it’s time to jump aboard. In his last four starts he’s finished 18-9-MC-46, this includes a top-10 at the US Open where he was second in strokes gained tee-to-green. It seems unbelievable to think he could have won a major but his normally reliable putting let him down.
Mullinax put this right at the Quicken Loans National where he was 8th in strokes gained putting and a respectable T46 overall on a course that would not have suited him.
TPC Old White has a habit of producing unusual winners, often a function of its weak field and the low scoring should suit Mullinax. His metrics are trending in the right direction and if he can pull it all together for four rounds he can win.
Back him at 125/1 with Coral and get 7 places at 1/5 odds.
