The Barclays Tips: Jim Furyk

Has five top-5s since the start of May but he’s no choker, firing final rounds of 65-66-65-69-66 to get into contention.

In search of his first PGA Tour title since 2010, Jim Furyk has done everything but win in the last few years.

Some might suggest he has forgotten how to get over the finishing line but in truth it’s his good play that has got him into contention, rather than throwing away winning positions.

Furyk has eight top-10 finishes this season with five top-5s. However looking at his scores you couldn’t call him a ‘choker’.

In the final rounds of his top-5s he has shot scores of 65-66-65-69-66, hardly evidence of a player wilting under pressure.

His price is inflated because of a perception that he cannot win any more and we should take advantage of the 28/1 (Bet365) on offer.
