The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic Tip: Corey Conners
T5 a fortnight ago, his fifth top-10 finish in his last 10 starts. Runner-up in 2014 US Amateur.
Corey Conners gave me a fright a fortnight ago when he got to within touching distance of the lead because he was one of my rookies to look out for this season on the Web.com Tour.
The 24-year-old is one of a glut of talented young Canadians making their way through the feeder tours and he might be the best of the lot having finished runner-up in the 2014 US Amateur Championship.
Last season he made the most of his opportunities, bagging 8 top-10s on the LatinoAmerica Tour to finish sixth on the money list. He then moved to te PGA Tour Canada and made 6/6 cuts with one second place finish.
If you include his T5 finish last week he has 5 top-10 finishes in his last ten starts and is running hot. He’s got bundles of ability and shouldn’t be 70/1.
