Stonebrae Classic Trends

Last week’s trends produced three of the top-15 in the Boise Open. We have a short-list of players to look out for in the Stonebrae Championship.Classic

The Stonebrae Classic returns to TPC Stonebrae, where Si Woo Kim won last year following on from the big hitting Tony Finau.

TPC Stonebrae is a par-70 measuring 7,100 yards although it should be noted that in 2009 and 2010 it played as a par-71.

Unusually it features three par-5s and five par-3s on the card.

Top-60 on tour for par-5 birdie of better
In 2012, Alex Aragon played the par-5s in seven-under, making up a sizeable chunk of his 10-under winning score. In 2011, Daniel Chopra birdied or eagled all the par-5s during his four rounds.

Top-60 on tour in holes per eagle
The par-5s at TPC Stonebrae offer eagle opportunities not just birdies. This can often make the difference come Sunday.

Top-60 on tour for driving distance
The par-5s are long but scoreable especially for the big hitters on tour. The last five champions all ranked inside the top-60 for driving distance.
