Stonebrae Classic Tips: Aaron Goldberg

Has gone close twice already this month before coming unstuck on Sunday. Won three times on the Canadian Tour so shouldn’t be afraid of winning.

Aaron Goldberg is rated as an outsider for the Stonebrae Classic but this seems slightly unfair given his statistics.

The 29-year-old is ranked 16th on the Web.com Tour’s all-around index, which comprises all the main golfing attributes; scoring, driving, GIRs and putting.

Goldberg’s form has also been decent, so far this month he’s finished T7-T11-MC-T64.

The main concern is he’s stumbled in the final round when challenging for a win. At the Nova Scotia Open he was third entering the final round and in Utah he was second before slipping back.

Sometimes players need to suffer a few harsh defeats before they learn to win.

I don’t think Goldberg is scared of winning; he won the Canadian Tour Order of Merit in 2010 and was victorious three times on tour.

The native Californian will be boosted by the home crowd and is a great each-way bet at 100/1 (Bet365).
