Zac Blair is another young tyro on tour but struggles on long courses. TPC Southwind is much more his sort of test.

With the likes of Daniel Berger, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth garnering all the plaudits for being the ‘next-generation,’ people have seemingly forgotten about Zac Blair.

The 24-year-old started the season on fire. He was in contention at the Frys.com Open until slipping back to T12 on Sunday and finished T6 at the Sony Open.

Averaging a mere 272-yards off the tee, he is one of the shortest hitters on tour (ranked 196th) which perhaps explains why he’s slipped off the radar in recent weeks.

The likes of Quail Hollow are simply too long for him but he showed a bit of form when T16 at the Byron Nelson a fortnight ago.

A terrific putter (3rd in strokes gained putting) he should enjoy the test presented by TPC Southwind and at 175/1 (Coral) is a lively outsider with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
