St Jude Classic Tips: Seung-Yul Noh

St Jude Classic Tips: Seung-Yul Noh

Has finished 7-MC-3 at TPC Southwind and tends to repeat his form at certain courses. Recent T20 at Zurich Classic (winner in 2014).

Some players take time to adjust to inflated expectations after a big win and I wonder if that is what happened to Seung-Yul Noh.  He won the Zurich Classic in April 2014 but then slipped off the radar, bar a couple of good performances in Korea.

The 25-year-old is still young by golfing standards and he reminded us of his talents at the St. Jude Classic last year with a blistering weekend score of 66-65 to finish third.

Noh’s weakness has been his driving (187th in strokes gained off the tee) but TPC Southwind is a second shot course and that plays more to his strengths. In three starts in Memphis he has finished 7-MC-3.

Noh is yet to ignite this season but he’s made 12/19 cuts and seems to repeat form at his favourite courses – he finished T20 at the Zurich Classic three starts back.

A couple of seasons ago I thought Noh was a potential major winner and although that mighty look fanciful right now, at 125/1 (Boylesports) he is a cracking each-way bet.
