Shriners Opens Tips: Luke Guthrie
Finished T5 last year bagging a pair of 64s in the process and showed glimpses of form last week at the Frys.com.
Luke Guthrie finished T5 at TPC Summerlin last year, his best result of the season and I bet he cannot wait to return.
The 24-year-old was derailed by a third round 71 but it was sandwiched between two rounds of 64, which shows how quickly he has mastered this course in the desert.
He returned to competitive action after a six-week absence with a T68 at the Frys.com Open. The tournament served as an opportunity to blow off the cobwebs, the fact he went wine tasting with his brother after round one suggests he was in a relaxed mood.
After last year’s high finish, I expect he has geared up his early season around TPC Summerlin and at 125/1 (Paddy Power) he is a great each-way bet.
