JT Shriners Golf Tips: Ken Duke

One of the best putters on tour, with the ability to drain the bucket-load of birdies required for victory.

With an average winning score of 22-under, TPC Summerlin is set-up for players to make birdies. Last season Kevin Na putted himself to an overdue victory and, having his 166th start, Ken Duke could do the same.

Ranked 28th for strokes gained putting on tour and 40th for par breakers, he’s got the game to succeed. Most importantly, he ranks 13th for average distance of putts made. On TPC Summerlin’s huge greens, the ability to make a couple of long putts could be crucial.

Although the 43-year-old arrives on the back of three missed cuts, two of them came during the playoffs against much tougher opposition. With six top-10s from 27 tour events, he’s proved he can compete on a regular basis away from the signature tournaments.

At 100/1 (Betfred) he looks the each-way value, especially if a few putts drop.
