Shenzen International Tips: Paul Dunne

Shenzen International Tips: Paul Dunne

Lost in a playoff last week but handled the pressure well and looks equipped to win on tour this season.

Last week was a bit of a heartbreaker for Paul Dunne in Morocco. He led the tournament for most on the final round but was eventually beaten in a playoff by Edoardo Molinari. Having tipped him at 55/1 it was a bitter pill to swallow but he can bounce back at a similar price this week.

I was particularly pleased by Dunne’s fighting spirit. He made a clutch birdie on 18 to force the playoff and burned the edge with a putt for a half on the first extra hole. His wayward driving was much improved on a tight course and perhaps the extra room at Genzon will see him to even better effect.

Dunne finished T31 last year but was inside the top-10 going into Sunday. More than ever I’m convinced he is a winner in waiting and he’s young enough to bounce back quickly from last week’s disappointment at 40/1 with SkyBet.
