Scottish Open Tips: Ross Fisher

Has finished 6-T28-T22 in last three starts and excellent off the tee in France where he ranked seventh for driving distance and accuracy.

Ross Fisher has never quite recaptured the highs of his 2009 season when he went close to winning both the US Open and Open Championship but the Englishman is still one of the best on the European Tour.

For the past two seasons he has finished inside the top-20 in the Race To Dubai and although he’s still waiting for his first top-5 of the season, he’s been ultra consistent.

Fisher has missed only one cut on the European Tour all season, ironically at his home club Wentworth. More recently he’s finished 6-T28-T22 and his all round game is in good shape.

At the French Open he ranked seventh for both driving distance and accuracy and that strength off the tee should keep him out of trouble at Castle Stuart.

An experienced links golfer, Fisher has made 5/8 cuts at the Open and has gone well in this tournament in the past. His best results my have come on other courses used in the rotation but he’s 3 from 3 in cuts made at Castle Stuart with a T24 finish in 2013.

At 70/1 (Betfred) he is a good each-way bet with 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
