Scottish Open Tips: Chris Wood

Has three top-10s in his last six starts and always a danger on a links course.

Chris Wood sprung to prominence at the 2008 Open Championship when he finished T5 as an amateur. He continued his love affair with links golf the following year, finishing T3 at Turnberry and warrants respect anytime he pitches up by the seaside.

However, it isn’t just his affinity with links golf that entices me, his overall game has impressed.

The tall Bristolian had a quiet start to the year as he recovered from injury but in the last two months he’s finished 5-T7-T21-MC-T8-T33.

The 26-year-old is able to cope with whatever the elements throw at him and at 66/1 (Betfred) he is a good each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
