Scottish Open: Ian Poulter
Finished 9-30-14-6 in last four years of Scottish Open with last two results coming at this week's venue. Solid bank of form in the US where he hasn't finished outside the top-40 in five starts.
It is fair to say Ian Poulter likes a bit of attention and nothing would give him more pleasure than riding the wave of patriotism driven by the football team this summer. That might not have any bearing on how he plays at the Scottish Open this week but it is an event he’s started to enjoy. In the last four renewals he has finished 9-30-14-6 with the last two editions coming at the Renaissance Club.
We know Poulter plays links golf well and he also arrives with a solid bank of recent form. He hasn’t finished outside the top-40 on his last five starts and that comprises two Major Championships and a T3 at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Last year’s leaderboard was almost overrun by Englishman and Poulter rates a lively each-way bet at 55/1 with Betfair paying 8 places.
