Home Comforts For Warren

Home Comforts For Warren

Often goes well at his home tournament, with two top-3 finishes in the last four years.

Earlier in the year Marc Warren spoke of his desire to win the Scottish Open and outside of a major, this is probably the most important event in his schedule.

Partly it is the desire to win his ‘home’ tournament but he must also want to set the record straight after tossing away a golden opportunity in 2012. Warren dropped four shots in the final four holes to lose by one.

Apart from being one of the best swingers of a club, Warren is also a fine putter and in a tournament where the winning score is often very low, that is a big advantage.

The 34-year-old is currently second in putts per GIR on the European Tour and if the putter stays hot, he should go well.

Warren has missed a couple of cuts lately but he has six top-25s finishes this season and traditionally goes well at the Scottish Open, with two third places in the last four years.

At 66/1 (Paddy Power), he is a solid each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
