Carry The Can

Yes He Can

Alejandro Canizares is ranked fourth in par 4 scoring, which could prove crucial on a par-70 layout. Finished T11 in 2012.

The Scottish Open has attracted a strong field in the run-up to the Open Championship but whilst the best players are looking forward it affords the opportunity for a lesser light to sneak under the radar.

Alejandro Canizares is a complete outsider at 200/1 but judged on his form he deserves better.

The Spaniard has three top-10s this season and is ranked 49th in stroke average. Most important of all he is 4th in the field for par 4 scoring, an important factor on this week’s par-70 course.

Canizares finished T11 in the 2012 Scottish Open and has shown an aptitude for links golf. He also finished tenth at the BMW PGA to prove he can cut it amongst a strong field and is a great each-way bet at 200/1 (Bet365) with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
