Rust Oleum Championship Tip: Ted Potter Jr
Two-time winner on tour and one of the most consistent around. Finished T20 last year with a cold putter over the weekend.
As a previous PGA Tour winner Ted Potter Jr might think he should be plying his trade at a higher level but he’s been on the Web.com Tour before. He is a two-time winner in this grade and knows what it takes to gain promotion.
The 33-year-old has started the season strongly making 8/10 cuts and sits comfortably inside the top-25 on the money list. There were near misses at the United Leasing & Finance Championship and the Mexico Championship and i’d be surprised if he did win on tour this season.
Ranked fifth in scoring average and eighth in the all-around ranking there aren’t many weakness to his game, it’s just a case of when rather than if he goes close again.
Twelve months ago he finished T20 at Ivanhoe Club but he barely made a putt over the weekend. If he can get a few more to drop he should be thereabouts again.
