Rust Oleum Championship Tip: Michael Hebert

Rust Oleum Championship Tip: Michael Hebert

Second on tour in scoring average and put himself in the mix for the title last Sunday before fading. Finished T39 here last year.

Michael Hebert got himself on the fringes of contention last week at the Rex Hospital Open but was a victim of pressing to hard on the back-9. In pursuit of a win he fell out of the top-10 and finished T24 but for most of the tournament he was a lot better than his final placing.

That is four cuts in a row for the 26-year-old, enough to see sat second on tour for actual scoring average. Not the longest off the tee, his game is based around hitting fairways and greens.

In his third full season on the Web.com Tour, he now looks ready to make a run for the top-25 on the money list and the Rust-Oleum Championship is sure to be a tournament he earmarked for success. Last season he finished T39 but was on for a top-20 finish before stumbling on Sunday. It’s a habit he needs to break.
