Quicken Loans National Tips: Jordan Spieth
Overdue a win and finished sixth last year after sharing the lead at the halfway stage.
I must admit I’ve been a bit slow jumping on the Jordan Spieth bandwagon. This is will be the first time I’ve backed him and he’s co-favourite!
Previously I have struggled to see the appeal of Spieth because he doesn’t hit it particularly long or straight. In fact, I could never understand why he was enjoying such success.
The subtlety I missed is he does everything pretty well and has a demon short game. Congressional therefore provides the perfect test.
Last year he co-led at the halfway stage before eventually finishing sixth. He returns in red-hot form with six top-20s in his last seven starts.
On the balance of play he deserves a win this season and I’m happy to jump on board at 16/1 (Coral).
