Quicken Loans National Tips: Carlos Ortiz
Tee-to-green his game is in good shape and just needs the putter to heat up.
Carlos Ortiz gave us some excitement when he shot an opening 66 at the Barbasol Championship a fortnight ago and although he couldn’t sustain his run over the weekend, it was an encouraging return to form.
Last week he finished T63 at the Candian Open but played much better than the result. The young Mexican was T6 in GIRs but couldn’t make a bean on the greens and was ranked 71st in strokes gained putting.
Every player is allowed an off-week on the greens and hopefully he can bounce back at the Quicken Loans National.
It’s worth remembering that Ortiz won 3-times on the Web.com Tour and was the leading money earner last season.
If Tony Finau can be 40/1 then Ortiz must be value at 225/1 (Bet365).
