Ranked 17th in strokes gained tee-to-green and putting has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks.
It’s been a couple of year’s since Ben An entered the winner’s enclosure but he must be commended for challenging himself and moving to the PGA Tour and he probably won’t have to wait much longer. Last season he was runner-up at the Zurich Classic and it won’t take much more to get over the line.
An finished an unremarkable T66 last week at the Travelers but it wasn’t that long ago that he was stringing top-10s together at the Wells Fargo and Byron Nelson.
Ranked 17th in strokes gained tee-to-green on tour there is nothing wrong with his ball-striking, he is just waiting for the putter to get hot. He lost ground to the field at the Travelers but in his previous three PGA Tour starts he gained strokes putting.
TPC Potomac is a unfamiliar stop on tour for the professionals so Ben An won’t be disadvantaged by his comparative lack of experience. This could help him breakthrough in America.
