AT&T National Trends: Ryan Palmer

Four top-tens in his last five events and of the starting line-up only Woods and Furyk have a better scoring average this year.

One of the hottest players on tour right now is Ryan Palmer, with four top-10 finishes in his last five events. He is an aggregate 32-under for those five events and it is no surprise that he ranks 11th for adjusted scoring average on tour.

As we saw in our trends analysis, Congressional is a course where scoring average is hugely important. The last four winners all ranked inside the top-10 on tour for this metric. Looking at the participants, only Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk have a better scoring average than Ryan Palmer this year.

The 35-year-old Texan also has good course form. He finished T21 at the US Open 2011 and T22 at the AT&T National back in 2009.

He arrives in Maryland in such hot form he is impossible to ignore given the stats in his favour. At 40/1 (Stan James) he is a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
