Qatar Masters Tips: Quesne Underrated In This Company

Finished T28-T19 in last two Qatar Masters and we can ignore a missed cut in Abu Dhabi where he’s never played well.

Every week a European Tour event is priced Julien Quesne catches my eye. The 35-year-old has finished inside the top-80 on the Race To Dubai for the last four seasons and has two tour wins to his name during that period.

The Frenchman is not considered amongst the elite in Europe but he is a dangerous player in slightly weaker events. In two visits to Qatar he has finished T28-T19 and has broken par in seven of his eight competitive rounds.

Doha GC suits his game much more than Abu Dhabi (best T52) and therefore I’m happy to overlook last week’s missed cut.

If you take a medium term look at Quesne’s form there is plenty of encouragement. He finished in the top-20 at the British Masters, Turkish Open and BMW Masters all late in 2015.

There has been an overreaction to one bad tournament and at 125/1 (Paddy Power) he is a good each-way bet.
