Qatar Masters: Romain Langasque

Finished in the top-10 for the past two weeks; an excellent showing because low-scoring shootouts don't play to his strengths. Doha GC should help him separate from the pack.

The Qatar Masters returns to Doha GC and this more links-style course, often impacted by coastal breezes should provide a different challenge to recent DP World Tour events.

:
The last two weeks in South Africa have produced winning scores of 22-under and 25-under but don’t expect such a shoot out in Qatar. This week there is a premium on excellent driving and ball-striking and that brings Romain Langasque into the equation.

To his credit, the Frenchman has finished in the top-10 for the past two weeks and tournaments that become a putting/birdie competition are not his strong suit. There needs to be a larger probability for bogeys to elevate Langasque away from the pack - therefore doing well in conditions that don’t necessary suit is a massive positive.

Langasque’s record at Doha GC is 37-MC but that missed cut contained a flawless Friday round of 69 and in this company, on this course, i’d make him favourite.

Bet2365 are paying 1/4 odds for a top-5 finish.
