Price Cutter Championship: Chad Ramey

Finished T11-T23 in two visits to Highland Springs never shooting worse than 70. Premium on accuracy rather than distance plays to his strengths and not missed a cut since return to action.

The Price Cutter Championship visits Highland Springs Country Club this week for a tournament that has remained unchanged since 1990. After a diet of TPC courses that has favoured the long hitters, here we have a venue that puts a premium on approach shots. The likes of Harry Higgs, Ben Silverman and Mackenzie Hughes have all triumphed here in recent years and they are comparatively modest hitters.

One player who will enjoy this week’s different test is Chad Ramey. The 27-year-old has chugged along of late, consistently making cuts but not threatening since his T6 at the King & Bear Classic. One of the straightest hitters on tour (9th for driving accuracy) he should set up plenty of opportunities if continuing to finds greens (ranked T4 for GIRs last week).

His results at Highland Springs read: 11-23 and he has never shot worse than 70 around this course. Eventually his consistency will be rewarded.
