Portland Open Tips: Bronson Burgoon
Has expressed a preference for bent grass greens and hit 91.67% of GIRs last week.
The Portland Open is a new stop on the Web.com Tour and course form is non-existent. The majority of the field will be teeing it up at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club for the first time and the Witch Hollow course will provide a stern test.
The course has bent grass greens and fairways and this will be to the liking of Bronson Burgoon.
Under the same conditions he finished T18 at the Stonebrae Classic and his results have been on an upwards trajectory since then.
In his last four starts Burgoon has finished T49-T18-T39-2, going extremely close last week at the News Sentinel Open where he hit a remarkable 91.76% of GIRs over four rounds.
With the quality of ball-striking he only needs a moderate week with the putter to contend at 70/1.
